To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Ankle Fracture I fell on the ice back in early January 2009 and fractured my left ankle (malleus break - injury to tibula and fibula). I had surgery the same evening it happened. I have been in a walking cast and on crutches now for over 8 weeks. I am discourgaged and disheartned that I can not place full weight on the injured foot to walk. I fear I am healing too slowly and that the injury will be closer to taking 4 months or longer before I can really do anything without the cast and crutches. Everyone keeps asking me when - will I be off crutches and out of the cast. These questions and comments don’t help my state of mind. It seems my surgeon/orthopedist talks as if I should be off crutches and out of the cast by now OR real soon. But the pain is so severe - I don’t see it happening anytime soon. Any support or suggestions @ this point would be appreciated. Comments
