living with Brachymetatarsia

by: Madelyn U. M. R. on Tue, Apr 29 2008

My grandma was born with this condition but, it skipped my mom and I was left with a severe case in my fourth toe on each foot. Spring would come, and everyone at school would wear flip flops and I would become depressed. They all had these perfect little toes and I wore these huge tennis shoes and thick socks so that no one could ever see my toes. In the fall, I had my first operation. Now, my left foot is fixed and my toe looks fairly normal. Now, I am in the midst of my right foot’s operation. It is most definitely true, what the podiatrists say. Each foot is different. This foot, for instance, is more painful.
