LIFE WITH CHARCOT’S…

As If living with Insulin-dependent Diabetes Is not tough enough, try living a “normal” life with Charcot’s. Almost a year ago to the day, I was diagnosed and a cast was placed on my left foot the was the ultimate in fashion accessories. Yesterday, I informed and was cast on my right foot with Charcot’s; only, to bones and ligaments that are far more dangerous to lose than the afflicted one’s on the left foot. (And yes, the runway girls would be thrilled with this “pair of high fashion boots”). In all honesty, up until now, I have been very fortunate to have not had other complications to a horrible, life-robbing disease like diabetes. So, here goes nothing on a few prevocative words of wisdom:

- YOU CAN LAUGH AT YOURSELF AND ASK, IS IT POSSIBLE TO FIX THIS SITUATION?…OF COURSE, WE KNOW NO ANSWERS, but other thoughts have sure crossed our minds a time or two;

- CAN I KEEP ON WORKING AND SUPPORT MY FAMILY? ONLY IF YOU ARE STRONG, CAN ENDURE TREMENDEOUS DISCOMFORT AND CAN LAUGH OFF ANYTHING THAT COMES YOUR WAY, FOR YOU TRUELY DO NEED TO FIND YOUR SENSE OF HUMOR AND PATCIENCE;

- KNOW YOURSELF, OR AT LEAST, GET TO KNOW YOURSELF BETTER; IT WILL ULTIMATELY BE YOUR SALVATION;

-DON’T BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP, BECAUSE, DIFINATIVELY, YOU WILL TRUELY FIND OUT WHO YOUR FRIENDS REALLY ARE.

LIVE WELL, LOVE OFTEN, LAUGH MUCH
