Curious about alternative to surgery

I have already seen my podiatrist and he told me that my arch is falling in my right foot and that I more than likely have a neuroma Arch supports in my tennis shoes have helped, but haven’t aleviated the problem. My podiatrist recommended shooting alcohol into the nerve to kill it as an alternative to surgery. Has anyone had that advise given to them?
