To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Morton’s neuroma Six years ago I had surgery for a disc which prolapsed suddenly giving me referred pain from the knee down and into my foot. Op was successful but I was still left with pain in my foot which has been getting steadily worse over the years. Have seen many ‘experts’ and tried many treatments and the assumption has been that it is still referred pain from my back caused by damage to my sciatic nerve by scar tissue from my op. Saw a pain consultant this week who suggested the primary pain might be in my foot. Had ultrasound yesterday and Morton’s neuroma discovered. Am now being referred to orthopaedic foot surgeon Does anyone else have history of back problems and sciatic nerve damage leading on to one of these neuromas? I feel it is too coincidental that they are not associated and I never had any trouble with my foot before this (I am 50 now). Comments
