To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Neuroma of the great toe joint I had a nickle sized lump on the inside of my left foot just behind the big toe joint. It got bigger and smaller depending on my activity levels. The more horseback riding I did and the more walking I did, the bigger it got. When I stopped riding due to the winter weather it got smaller. I went to a podietrist [podiatrist] and after x-rays and examination it was thought that I had a cyst there. I went in for surgery to have the cyst removed and further examine a dense area of tissue. When the surgeon got into the area he found that there was no cyst that it was a fatty tissue but he wasn’t sure what it was so he would send it for pathologies. I went to the doctor today and was told that it was a neuroma and that it was pretty rare to have a neuroma at that place in the foot. Has anyone else ever heard of a neuroma at this joint?? Is the prognosis and treatment the same as if the neuroma was in the “normal” space?? Any ideas or insight?? Comments
