Feet no longer throb with pain at night

by: Joan on Tue, Jul 08 2008

After being pushed down a flight of stairs and landing on both feet I developed Morton’s Neuroma, or so a podiatrist told me. I have an area about the size of a small potato around that area also that has made walking almost impossible“bleeding into the tissue” X-rays showed my bones were being distorted because of the “growth” the bleeding into the tissue due to the pressure that accompanied the neuroma The injection of Kenalog just sent me, a Diabetic ,to the hospital all night until the next day when they could get my sugar down as it went to over 550 before the ambulance could arrive even with my regular insulin dosage being repeated, so they took me and I was given insulin by iv until I could stabalize.
Working was impossible, I could not bear to stand, I gained 28 lbs. at 5 ft. one of my friends just demanded I get up and walk to try to loose the weight I had put on, and I tried. They just began screaming, “Something has to be done, you can’t walk with your foot purple and swollen like that!” I HAD TRIED TO TELL HIM!
I moved to Georgia and kept a friends grandbaby as well as I could limping on the side of my foot going to bed with my foot throbbing everynight.
My everyday shoes began tearing up and the soles were wearing off after 2 years of not working, so my friends decided to take me shopping for shoes. Luckily this one store REI 1800 NE Expressway Atlanta had a trained shoe stretcher technician, as nothing seemed to fit my unusually wide right foot. He had also had a Neuroma and knew the pain “the pain of theFEET”. He suggested SUPERFEET and a new pair of shoes. WOW! after only a few days I could wear shoes all day long work in my garden, walk on the bike path, chase the grandbaby around all day and not have throbbing feet at night! I was tired but for the first time in years since landing down the stairs on both feet, I could enjoy some of life without foot pain! So there is hope for you out there. The nerve has to get relief from the pressure to shrink and allow the bones to be in their proper places in order to allow you freedom to walk again. It is still with me, just not so painful anymore. Kind of like the divorce. It is good to get rid of the pain.
