Neuropathy/restless legs

by: Dorothy on Mon, Jun 25 2007

I was dianosed with diabetes about 5 years ago. I am not on any diabetes medication; and, so far, I am handling it with diet & exercise. I am also troubled with restless legs and by 5 pm every day, I take 5 Requip tablets (0.25 mg) which does give me some relief. Last night, I had this horrible pain in my left leg with some cramping. My leg felt heavy and I dragged it. It then happened to my right leg. I got out of bed and tried walking, but it didn’t stop. I returned to bed and tried to relax and finally it subsided. This happened two more times during the night. It was scary. I do take 100 mg of neurontin at bedtime. After reading Renee’s letter, I think that I should be taking a higher dose. By the way, I am 83 years of age.
