Where Did I Go?

by: S.M. on Sat, Apr 21 2007

In Nov 2002 I tripped and fell on my open left palm, which caused the lower forearm bone to slip up and sliced off my elbow. I had to have open reduction surgery with and 2 screws, then put in a half cast. Well 2 days later I had severe muscle spasms, burning and a pain that felt like someone was ripping my skin off. Well , told my doctor, he gave me some pain pills, and in 3 weeks the cast came off and when my arm was released, the pain was so great! he had to put me in a sling.

Then I went to theraphy and man talk about pain! Because this was a rare type of break, they weren’t sure what plan to put me on , so the started very slow. Then the main Dr. said something is very wrong. He sent a report to my doctor to have me set up for a EMG. Before I go any futher this was a Workmen’s Comp thing. YEAH !!! So I had to wait till they gave approval. So everything took its time. I went to 43 different doctors so they could tell my job nothing was wrong and they could not. 9 different therapy , 2 years later they finally said I had CPRS2.

Even knowing my EMG showed my Ulner Radis and Medium Nerves where destroyed beyound repair that they agreed. But in the mean time it had moved to my neck, head, face, across my shoulder to the other arm down my back and into the left leg. Retired at 48. Now here is the kicker. I take 3 different types of seziure medication, methedome and 7 other types of meds for this diease.

So I have a pain level of a 10 almost everyday. I never sleep. I am depressed. Now it is 5 years later. I have trouble walking, can’t spell or remember, even thou I have a college degree. Now father thinks I am a drug addict , and should go into rehab. My siblings think I am faking, (yeah come look at my house :( . My siblings don’t think I do my part for my ill mother, who lives 40 miles away and needs to go to the doctor another 45 miles away, knowing I can’t drive very well with all this medication. I was taking 5200mg of neroution a day and they weaned me down to Lyricia. So you can imagine, my whole body locked up and the pain in my body was unbareable.

The doctor wanted me to go in the hospital but I stayed home missed 2 weeks of church on the 3rd week I went. Of course I sqruim alot and my muscles jerked all over, had trouble walking, very slow. When chruch was over the pastor asked my father what was wrong with me and he said “She’s on Drugs!” I just found out what everyone was thinking about me today.

So being depressed anyway, I am really depressed. My arm is in a bent fixed position, my head pulls to one side, my other arm has lost alot of range of motion, my leg drags, and I constantly have sever muscle spasms in my back. I don’t think I could stand the pain if I stop my meds, cause I can’t stand it now. I am so so sad! And my family thinks so badly of me, that it broke my heart.

I have always worked, raised my childern. I played baseball on a time. Loved dancing, horse back riding, hiking, walking, having fun with my friends, and did volunter work. I loved that woman, and I lost her, and can’t find her. Nobody can tell me where she is at. My question is. Where did I Go?
