    I had surgery to remove my lateral sesamoid bone 8 years ago. I had been in severe pain from the age of 16 and finally had it removed when I was 24. I had tried shoe inserts, complete rest, anti inflammatory tablets - all the usual suspects, but to no avail. the funny thing was I don’t even know what i did to shatter it in the first place but it was in lots of tiny pieces when they finally found out the problem.
