To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Sesamoidectomy Over the past 6 or 7 months I had a very painful callous on the ball of my left foot. Nothing I tried would get rid of it and as time went on it got more and more painful to walk on. I went for medical advice and after the x-ray was told I would have to have a sesamoidectomy. Apparent the fibular bone had deteriorated and no “cushion” was on the bottom of my foot between the bone and the skin. It has been 5 weeks since my surgery. The first 3 weeks are rough … very painful and I walked with the aid of a walker or was in a wheelchair. This past week I have had shoes on for short periods of time and I started back to work this week. My ankle and foot is still pretty swollen and the foot is a little painful when I walk but I am surprised just how quickly it is improving. Each day is a little easier. I have the full movement of all my toes and hopefully in 6 months I will be back to normal. Comments
