Fractured Sesamoid Ended Ballet Career

When I was about 18; living and training in Manhatten as a professional ballet dancer, I unknowingly broke my sesamoid bone. After a year and a half of dancing in pain, I ended my ballet career and finally got a correct diagnoses. However it was too late. The bone fragments had to be removed surgically, and my foot has never been the same. Years later I turned this disappointment into something positive and became a Certified Pedorthist. I help others with foot related issues through the use of custom foot orthtotics and help with shoes. Since I can no longer run or do alot of walking, I have also taken up cycling and try to race competetively. I love the field of Pedorthics and I love helping people find solutions to their problems.
