malignant melanoma of left forearm

in march of 2009, I was shocked to hear from my dermatologist that a red, ithcy ‘mole’ aquired from a vacation in Mexico was malignant melanoma, superficial spreading. I went for a wide excision, surgery was same day, recovery went well. My surgeon commented ” i’m not worried about this one, it’s finding the next”. the lesson to be learned is to avoid tanning and tanning beds! Use sunscreen. I love to be tan, so now use mystic tan which is wonderful for your skin. young people, especially women, avoid the tanning beds, it is not worth it! beautiful skin is light or dark, whatever is natural! take care of your body. it’s all you have!
