To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Pain of tarsal tunnel syndrome I have been having pain and numbness in my toes for a little over a year now and had just about every diagnosis a foot can get but finally ended with tarsal tunnel syndrome After a lot of research on my part it was recommended that I have surgery and went with an orthopeadic surgeon that came recommended. that was in March. i spent six weeks in a non wieght bearing cast and thought I was finally on the road to recovery only to start having the same symptoms as before. Six months later I have seen a new ortho and he has said that the first surgeon did not open and release the appropriate area and that is why I have the symptoms back. i now have to have another nerve conduction study done ( I can’t wait, yeah right). and a bone density done as the sesamoids in the toe area are a little oddly shaped and we want to eliminate anything else. Then I asked about the recovery time being the same as before, 6 weeks non wieght bearing etc. and they said no that I did not need that to begin with. They said that I would be off my feet for 3 to 5 days and then go into an aircast for about 2 weeks . At least I own the aircast now as well as crutches. I am not sure what direction to go or the right questions to ask any more. I do know that I will not go through surgery again without a second opinion and then having both explain what they do, how they do it and how they handle recovery. I am a competitive skater by enjoyment and a chef by trade who opened my own business during this time. Comments
